Interactive Math Notebook for Winter!

Hello sweet friends! apology to my neglected blog!  I almost had to search for a "How-To" book on blogging....I almost forgot how!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with their family and friends!

Down here in Texas the flu is supposedly going around like wildfire!  I am praying we all stay healthy this winter!  Jaxon ended up with strep throat AGAIN....and now we have to see the ENT!  (He has had it 5 times since April....not looking to promising!)  Luckily we have an amazing ENT since both boys have had ear tubes and infections their whole life!

Being off for Christmas break will hopefully allow me to get a few of my things crossed off of my to-do list!  Starting with some of my TpT projects.....

I finally finished my Interactive Math Notebook for Winter (Grade 1)!  I am so excited to start using this when we get back!

It features multiple templates and activities for 8 different concepts (addition to 10, addition to 20, subtraction, fact families, place value, time, money, and odd/even number patterns)

The packet has 75 pages and each concept includes picture examples and multiple interactive templates!

These are just a few of the examples from the packet...

I am excited to try the interactive "craze" when I get back!  I know my students will enjoy it and with it being so hands-on and visual, I know they will retain it better!

You can check out the packet HERE
It will be on sale for a limited time :)

And for a little winter FREEBIE..... Here are a few activities to add to your snowman collection!

You can click on the picture to download :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful break and a Happy New Year!   I can't wait to see what 2014 brings :)

Happy Thanksgiving {and a Sale!}

Another Thanksgiving has come and is *almost* gone!

I have so much to be thankful for and I am so blessed that sometimes I need to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming.  I have an amazing family (both at home and school!) and everything I have been blessed with is beyond words.

These little guys below definitely are my entire WORLD and I don't know what I would do without either one of them in my life. I really don't remember life without them!

I know it's so easy to complain about the little things that go wrong in our daily schedules, but when I think about how it could be, I am definitely a lucky and thankful lady tonight!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day with family, friends, and loved ones!

On another note..... Black Friday is coming soon (the crazy day!)  I used to be an early riser on this day, but with stores already open tonight.... it takes the whole shopping spirit to another level!  I will be staying at home tonight (and probably tomorrow too!)

But the words "ONLINE SHOPPING" are definitely on my to-do list!  Starting with TpT!

The Cyber sale will come Monday, but I will be putting my store on sale on Friday, as well as many other blogging buddies so you can get your shop on early!!  (I know I will!)

Save the Turkeys!

Can you believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner? We are up to our neck in turkeys and pilgrims and Thanksgiving fun!

This week we read the adorable little book "The Thanksgiving Surprise" where the little pilgrim brother tries to save the turkey by leading his bigger brother pilgrim in the opposite direction!  He eventually tells the turkey to hide and they end up having Pumpkin Pie for Thanksgiving!

I whipped up this little craft for my kiddos to do to help save the turkeys!  We thought of all the ways we could have an alternative feast without a turkey!

From ice cream, pizza, beef jerky, and kiddos LOVED making this little craft!

They turned out really cute and end up in the hallway!!

Eat pumpkin Pie!

Eat ice cream!

and the best part.....

Have a great rest of the week!

Fun with Plurals!

Yes it's Monday morning and I should be teaching right now....but when your 4 year old has strep get a day off.  (Not the best way to get a day off but I get an extra day with my sweeties!)

We spent Sunday at the local Urgent Care....not the best way to end the weekend.  Good thing he's feeling much better after a few doses of antibiotics, so he should be back to school tomorrow!

So this gives me a little time to catch up on my blogging (and the other 101 things on my to-do list!)

Last week we dove right into plurals!  We really only get into -s and -es, but we still had a lot of fun!

We made a little chart together and ONLY focused on words that receive an -s.  Then we focused on words that are "special" that receive an -es!

Each student received a card and had to sort it to singular or plural and explain why!

They made their cute and delicious little Pizza Plurals....

The next day we received a little "package" from the Plural Pilgrims....

Inside, we found an envelope with a letter and some mini-posters, as well as three pilgrim hats.

The letter written to our class explained that the Pilgrims were having a Plural Feast and we were all invited!  There was one rule....we had to sort the words to the correct pilgrim.  (The -s pilgrim and the -es pilgrim)  The pilgrims gave us a bag with Thanksgiving foods with singular nouns.  We would have to sort them to the correct pilgrim.

The hats were for our "practice".  Two students wore the S and the ES hat and the students had to sort their cards to the correct plural student.

After practicing, we sorted to our "real" pilgrims!

After we sorted all of the food words to the correct pilgrims "mailbox", we pulled them out and sorted them to their feast plates to make sure they were all sorted correctly!

You can grab your FREE set of the words by clicking HERE

After sorting all of our words and being "officially" invited to the feast, we wanted to say thank you by bringing a turkey to the feast.  (of course these were plural turkeys!)  Each student took one of the words and made it plural on a feather....

So our board looked a little something like this at the end....

The students had a blast and could probably tell you with their eyes closed which words will get an -ES now!  (instead of looking at the pilgrim chart!)

And I just had to share a picture of my crazy and cute little guys! They went bowling for the first time a few weeks ago....

Do you see that evil grin?  Always planning something!  And Little M was always planning a way to get the bowling balls!  He's waiting for them to come out :)

Have a great week!
