The Monday's are getting a little easier to handle.... when we only have ONE Monday left! Say what?!
Yep... it's the end of the year....as we know it! (are you singing in your head?!)
The end of the year comes with a lot of different emotions.... I mean we as teachers are so very excited to NOT set our alarms in the summer, have pajamas as our main clothing item, and soak up some relaxation before we do it all over again! BUT.... we have to say goodbye to our sweet little kiddos we have been with daily for the past 170+ days, teaching them new information and seeing them transform into the little smarties they are!
The end of the year is the perfect time to reflect on our favorite events from the year, what we liked the most, the least, and everything in between. We remember the good times and try to forget the not-so-good times (we've all had them as a teacher!) But our students only get this ONE year with us (for the most part!) and we want them to take a keepsake (or three.... or eight) with them to help them cherish the memories of this particular grade level.
I have been blessed to teach kindergarten this year (which I absolutely LOVE).... but for many of my students... it their very FIRST year of school. Their first year away from mommy, their first year with a structured schedule.... the first of many things! I definitely want them to remember their VERY FIRST year of school!
So.... I have a few activities that we will be doing throughout the last few days of school (we have 11!) so that my students will keep the memories with them for years to come!

This past weekend the hubby and I ventured out to Lowe's (I love that place!) and I ever-so non-nonchalantly grabbed a few (about 50!) paint samples! Yes.... I was looking those colors up and down as if I were about to take on a big project at my house... but you know us teachers... we have different plans!
This little keepsake is SUPER easy!!!!
I just typed up some little titles including "This Year was PAINTED with FUN!" and then students will draw or write their three favorite things from this school year!
I will laminate them for my students and tie a ribbon so they can keep it as a bookmark or a keepsake!
I was going to grab all of the same color (but I figured that would look obvious if I was taking 50 of one color.....) so I spread it out a bit and grabbed a bunch of bright colors :)
I also used Astrobrights paper and just cut the sheets in half!
Then, just have your students select their favorite paper and paint sample!
Just add the titles to the page and you are done! (except for the students filling in their favorite things!)
I created the titles for PRE-K through 3rd grade! I included the year as well, but it didn't fit on my papers (but depending on you cut your paper... you may be able to use it!)
You can grab the titles by clicking HERE!
Another fun end-of year activity that we will be completing is our Memory Bag books!
All you need for the keepsake is the LARGE sized lunch bags!
I have included a step-by-step (which is super simple!) to create the booklet and then you can select the pages that you want to fill into the book!
You can either print black and white and allow students to decorate the bag, or once again, use Astrobrights paper to give it a pop of color!
I am SUPER excited to do this little memory bag!!
You can check it out HERE or click on any of the pictures above :)
No year is complete without giving your students their prestigious awards for all of the hard work they have accomplished! Yes... I know... sometimes it's hard to find that perfect award for a few of your students.... (I've been there!)
I whipped up these little awards a few years ago and have used them ever since! I also created them in color AND b/w just in case you want to run on some fabulous bright paper!
AND THEY ARE FREE!!!
You can click HERE for the Color Awards!
You can click HERE for the black and white awards!
You can also check out my Teachers Pay Teachers store and find the custom categories on the left side of your screen! Just click on "End of Year" to find other activities!
So.... how many more days do you have left?
